Vermont Dental Services – Crowns and Bridge Work
A crown, also known as a “cap”, is used to strengthen a damaged or broken tooth. A crown can be also used to improve esthetics, color and/or shape of a tooth.
Why would a crown be recommended?
- to replace a large filling
- to repair a fractured tooth or prevent fracture
- cover an implant
- improve esthetics of a discolored or misshapen tooth
- protect a tooth that has had a root canal treatment
A bridge may be recommended if you are missing one or more teeth. Missing teeth can cause the adjacent teeth to shift, resulting in changing the bite. The space created by the missing tooth/teeth is spanned by a prosthetic tooth that is permanently anchored on each side by a natural tooth.
Our crown and bridge work is from a precise 3D scan of the patient’s upper or lower dental arch (es).
